5 Marketing Resolutions To Make A Bigger Impact in 2023

As we are setting our intentions for the new year in our personal life, January is also an excellent time to reflect on our professional practices and an opportunity to cultivate healthy habits. If you have yet to decide on your marketing resolutions for 2023, we have a few suggestions to help you get started.

1. Keep your marketing goals in line with the business objectives. Are they aligned? We make business decisions daily, and it is a good practice to check in annually, if not quarterly, to ensure that you are still working under the latest strategic direction.

2. Regularly review the scores and relevancy of your scorecard. Are you creating value? You want to study your results and decide if they require corrective action. In addition, things change, and what you measured a year ago might no longer be relevant. Take some time to assess if you are looking at the most meaningful measure of the value you create for the business.

3. Frequently talk to old and new clients. Do you understand their needs? When was the last time you interviewed your most loyal clients? What about the new customer that just signed? What value are they expecting from your business? Do they get it?

4. Stay up-to-date on market trends. Are you behind what is happening? Market trends evolve, new entrants appear, and competitors make some moves. So how current is your market knowledge?

5. Think about your team with a fresh eye. How can you increase engagement? Like you, your team has had a chance to step back during the holidays. What is their state of mind? What’s in it for them?

Focusing on these five areas will transform you into an aligned, relevant, connected, aware, and engaging marketing leader.

If you need help with the above recommendations, I will be happy to hear from you.
